Donors Choose/Genius Hour

Donors Choose Grant Application:

  • Spend a few minutes exploring existing project requests.
  • Think of a project/need for your current practicum classroom or a similar setting.
  • Using the Donors Choose Mini-Grant application format, create a Google document with the following paragraph headers:
  1. My students (2-3 paragraph description of students)
  2. My project (2-3 paragraph description of a project)
  3. My students need (list of materials)/Materials Budget
(table with headings: material | vendor | total # | price)

Link your completed grant application to your portfolio projects page.

Genius Hour, Post #5:

I messed up and gave you the questions for post #5 when I assigned post #4 – so, it seems, that you have already completed all required posts with the 4 originally assigned. So cross this one off your list.

Preparations for final day of class:

You’ll share your Genius Hour projects with small groups. To prepare, you’ll want to read through all of your posts (this is actually something you might want to do before you write your final post). Think about what is the most important thing to share with your classmates – what do they really need to know about your topic? You’ll have 5-7 minutes to share about your project with a small group.  We’ll take the first 5 minutes of class for you to sign up to share.

FOR TUESDAY, April 26:

  1. Your Donors Choose grant application is due at the beginning of class.
  2. Your 5th and final Genius Hour post is due at the beginning of class.
